Namibia Kindergarten - Sustainable Sanitation
A collection of online resources for exploring Namibia in Africa.

My daughters are studying Namibia as part of their World Thinking Day Girl Scout project this year. Already, we've collected so many interesting resources, I decided to share them. (Learn more about using Girl Scouts in Homeschooling.)

Girl Guides/Girl Scouts and School in Namibia

First we discovered that Namibia has Girl Scouts, too, but they're called Girl Guides. The Girl Guide program is approved as an informal subject in Namibian schools. To find out what school is like in Namibia, we attended the online Go to School for a Day in Namibia.

Water and Conservation in Africa, Namibia

Next we read short stories about Water in Africa: Namibia, a Peace Corps project written by people who live in Namibia. The stories cover water issues addressing culture, water source, daily usage, conservation, and health and nutrition.

Form resources below, my daughters and I learned that Namibia is the first country in the world to incorporate environmental protection into its Constitution. For this reason Namibia offers many community-based tourism options for travelers. With community based tourism, travelers can discover local habitats, wildlife, and traditional cultures in ways that benefit local communities, wildlife conservation, and environmental sustainability.

Cultural Diversity in Namibia

Namibian culture is influenced by many diverse cultures, including Whites, Basters, Caprivians, Coloured, Damara, Herero, Himba, Kavango, Nama, Owambo, San, and Tswanas. You can learn more about these Namibian cultures at Namibia Endless Horizons listed below.

Websites About Namibia

These are my daughters' top-rated online resources for exploring Namibian geography, wildlife, culture, and government.
